The COVID pandemic has demonstrated to all Canadians how vital our public healthcare system is. We are very proud of our healthcare workers. However, our system is far from comprehensive, and it can be improved.
Don will continue to work in Parliament to expand our public healthcare system to include mental health, Pharmacare and dental care.
The climate crisis is the foundational issue of our time. It represents an existential threat to all species. Don believes passionately in protecting our planet and taking urgent action - now.
Don will fight for bold policies to reduce carbon emissions, transition to clean energy, create sustainable jobs, expand habitat and protect our old growth forests.
Housing is not just a commodity – it is a necessity. It is unacceptable in a country as wealthy as Canada that citizens don’t have access to secure, decent and affordable housing.
Don will continue to fight for the full range of housing that is desperately needed. He is especially committed to building tens of thousands of new co-op units.
Don has worked for decades to advance human rights. In Parliament, he has championed equality and inclusive policies to ensure everyone in our community is respected.
From fighting for Indigenous justice to advancing LGBTQ2S+ rights to combating discrimination, Don is a dedicated voice for multiculturalism and diversity.
